Join us to celebrate World Batman Day on Saturday 19th September 2026 with an exclusive one-night-only event.
Enjoy Tim Burton's iconic Batman (1989) on the big screen, the groundbreaking film that redefined superhero cinema, starring Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as The Joker.
Your evening also includes a unique opportunity to meet and talk to Carl Newman, Michael Keaton's movement double—better known as "Ballet Bat" – a professionally trained dancer, his work helped create and shape Batman's distinctive on-screen presence.
Carl was given the name Ballet Bat by the Joker himself, Jack Nicholson. The Ballet Bat name was also adopted by Michael Keaton when referring to Carl.
Hear Carl share behind-the-scenes stories from the making of Batman (1989) during an exclusive live Q&A, and be among the very first to watch the World Premiere of “Ballet Bat” a new documentary by Alexander Eberhage exploring Carl's remarkable contribution to one of cinema's most iconic superheroes.
"Carl Newman was seminal in changing the physical way the world at large perceived Batman. Thanks to Carl's unique skills, Batman was now a graceful, muscular, yet sleek comic book hero come to life. Carl Newman's Batman was dark, majestic, stylish and exquisite, setting the highest standards for every cinematic interpretation of The Dark Knight to come." From Michael Uslan, Executive Producer and owner of the Batman Franchise.
The evening also features:
• Best Batman costume or Joker costume competition
• Chance to win Batman merchandise (Funko Pop! figures), signed by Carl
• Charity fundraising activities in support of Barnsley Hospice
