John Constantine is a suicidal demon hunter who has been to Hell and back, seeking a way to heaven to avoid eternal damnation. He teams up with the sceptical policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) to investigate the apparent suicide of her twin sister. Their investigation uncovers a plot involving both angelic and demonic forces on Earth and leads to a struggle between the forces of good and evil for control of the human world.
