Following its huge number of Awards wins (seven Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor in a Leading Role and Best Actor in a Supporting Role; and seven BAFTAs, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Leading Actor, and Best Supporting Actor), we are delighted to be screening Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer from a 70mm film print once again. We are the only cinema in the North of England to be screening it in this traditional high-resolution format! The film was shot on 70mm film rather than digitally and we are one of the few cinemas in the world to be screening it in this way! Come and see it in the highest resolution possible for miles around. Each screening will be introduced by our resident UK Cinema Hero; Rob Younger and there will be an opportunity to view the projection room after the film.
Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book 'American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer' by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin, Oppenheimer tells the story of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer, and his role in the development of the atomic bomb.
