Cross the Sky is a community theatre company for learning-disabled and autistic adults. It has been a part of Barnsley Civic since 2015 but has been running for over 20 years. Shot in 2022, filmmaker John Slemensek-Thorne of Studio Bokehgo embedded himself in Cross the Sky for six months, helping the company members tell their story. The resulting short-format documentary captures the group as they rehearse together for the first time after the Covid-19 pandemic halted their plans to tour their musical theatre production 'Up in the Attic'. The documentary promotes the creativity and talent of learning-disabled and autistic people and aims to challenge public perceptions of learning disabilities.

This screening will include captions.

Please Note: This is a free event, and entry will be given until there are no more seats available.
